e-PIN: price, where to buy, how many uses
Every result check needs a scratch card e-PIN — a serial number and a 12-digit PIN. WAEC does not fix one nationwide retail price, so figures differ by channel.
Price (July 2026): commonly ₦2,000–₦3,500, depending on where you buy. Resellers sometimes charge more — compare before paying.
Where to buy: your bank's USSD code or mobile app, Quickteller, Remita, or an authorised WAEC card outlet/cybercafé that can show you the physical card with a printed serial and PIN.
Uses per PIN: up to 5 checks on the same examination number, then it locks and you need a new e-PIN.
Never buy a PIN with no visible serial number. A genuine e-PIN always comes with a matching serial number and a 12-digit PIN. If a vendor only sends you a "code" with no serial, or asks for payment before showing the card, treat it as a scam.

Result withheld or outstanding — what it means
"Withheld" or "outstanding" means WAEC has not released a grade for that subject yet. Common reasons: an ongoing exam-malpractice inquiry, an incomplete or missing script, or an administrative hold on your centre. No PIN or SMS check can bypass this — it clears only after WAEC's investigation or review closes.
